A new advisory creates a decision for each organization: is the affected product present, which version is in use and is the vulnerable service reachable? A headline severity alone cannot answer those questions.
What should IT teams evaluate?
- Match official affected-version information to the asset inventory.
- Check whether exploitation is confirmed by a reliable advisory; treat unknown status as unknown.
- Prioritize remediation using exposure, business criticality and available mitigations.
